YAKA · About
Clothing for people who keep promises to themselves.
One standard: discipline over motivation. What we make, who it is for, and who makes it.
What we make.
Two shelves. YAKA Originals are the guardian tees: limited runs, hand-numbered, never reprinted once an edition closes. YAKA Studio is always open: the Promise Series, type-led heavyweight tees about the promises nobody else hears, made to order. Every Studio sale funds the next guardian drop. Join the Guardian List to hear when each window opens.
Each Originals release runs on a strict set of rules: every paid order gets printed, edition one is never reprinted, originals are never discounted, and there are no fake countdowns. The run size is published before the window opens, and the window closes exactly when it says it will. Numbers are claimed by direct message and assigned by hand.
Who it is for.
YAKA is built for the disciplined: climbers, swimmers, runners, and anyone who chooses standards over mood. People who show up on the days they do not want to, who keep the promises they make to themselves when nobody is watching. If motivation comes and goes but the work still gets done, this is your tribe. The guardian you wear is the discipline you are guarding.
Who builds it.
YAKA is founded and run from Cardiff, Wales. The guardian mythology is rooted in the mask traditions of Ambalangoda, on the southern coast of Sri Lanka, and translated with respect rather than copied as costume. The first run of GARA, the first guardian, was screen printed in Cardiff. The brand is built by a small team that wears the same standard it sells.
